Job Description: Insurance Intake Specialist
Position Summary
- Reports to the Operations Manager.
- Assures timely and accurate collection of health insurance information at flu clinics.
- Provides assistance to medical staff at flu clinics located at work-sites; including community centers and senior centers.
- Interface with patients and companies to assure collection of payables at clinics.
- Follows all relevant professional standards; state and federal requirements.
- Independent Contractor Position; Non Exempt Status.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 – 5 years experience in a related area.
- Prefer someone with a technical or medical background knowledge and/or experience.
- Assists with medical consent forms; with the collection of accurate health insurance information.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills; fulfill customer needs and ensures customer satisfaction.
- Excellent Attention to Detail with numbers and data collection.
- Excellent Organizational Skills.
- Strong Communication Skills.
- Ability to manage monies.
- Valid Drivers License and the use an insured automobile for transportation.
- Absence of a criminal background.
Collection of Health Information and Monies
- Accurately collects health insurance information from patients and other medical professionals.
- Collection of cash/checks from patients, provides receipts, and makes change when necessary.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA guidelines.
Professionalism
- Is professional in appearance, language, and all interactions.
- Works well in a team environment.
Other
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Lead RN and/or the Operations Manager.
- Communicates potential risk management issues per policy.
- Submits all documentation timely.
