Job Description: Health Screener - Phlebotomist

Position Summary

• Reports to the Wellness Account Manager
• Performs physical exams for patients in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
• Provides care consistent with all relevant professional standards, state and federal requirements.
• Independent Contractor Position; Non Exempt Status.
• OSHA Category 1.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited health care program.
• Prefer 1 year of Phlebotomy Experience.
• Medical Field Experience with blood draws, finger sticks, and vital signs.
• Verifies accuracy of patient records and prepares specimens for lab transportation.
• Knowledge and use of medical laboratory equipment.
• Excellent Customer Service Skills.
• Valid Drivers license and the use of an insured auto for transportation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Absence of a criminal background.

Clinical Services

• Performs assigned clinical procedures, including phlebotomy (blood draws), finger sticks, height, weight, blood pressure, pulse and education.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA guidelines.
• Accurately documents all clinical data.

Professionalism

• Is professional in appearance, language, and all interactions.
• Works well in a team environment.

Other

• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Wellness Account Manager.
• Communicates potential risk management issues per policy.
• Submits all documentation timely.
